APRIL IS DOPE
This month had me working on a commission creative called DOPE.
Honestly, it was a refreshing project to work on that combined a magazine of 55 CDs covering all genres from Rap, R&B, and Hip Hop. I really enjoyed peeking in on the magazine owners' music vibes and ran a quick trip down memory lane listening to some of the songs. I had no idea who Devon The Dude was. LOL! Click that if you don’t either.
While DOPE is sold, I am currently offering some print options for a limited time through Fine Art America to include the coolest lil $3 dollar decals for all those spaces that need a decal here.
WHAT ELSE IS UP:
Works continue on the “Send Nudes” series. Celebrating all things suburban sexuality, the nostalgia of what was, and the individual subject's interpretation of what is sexy. The photo poetry series combines black and white gel medium photo transfers with textured abstracts utilizing caulk.
The self-taken photographs and creative titles are all collaborated with the subject’s mood and vibe in mind while empowering the selfie and their own sexuality. If you’re interested in "sending a nude” and being a part of this collective, please do!
UPCOMING EVENTS:
Welp. I’m eating my words. I know I said I wasn’t sure if I was going to do Pancake & Booze in this lil V log here, but the truth is, it’s just a fun event, so I WILL be at Pancake & Booze Houston again this May 6th at Warehouse Live. I’m planning on doing things a little differently so if you can’t make this one, no worries. It’s all just a test. I will be doing a giveaway for the subscribers that’ll include 2 tickets to the show cause why not.
Mark your calendars for November! I am committing to doing my very first solo exhibit and birthday celebration combined on November 18th! Mark it! Hold me accountable. LOL. It’s a solo show or I better be in Paris. More details to follow but for now just block that day out and call it “Save This WHOLE Day For TheCaulkArtist” LOL.
OTHER COOL THINGS:
I have been submitting for juried shows like crazy. Fingers crossed we have a few new exhibition opportunities coming up! Not all of which will be in Texas. Insert my big goofy smile here.
That’s it for now! Once again, thank you for supporting me and for reading! It means the world to me that we can connect outside of social media and that you are here.
Be well,
Nicole
