BRINGING ART HOME

La Mecha Contemporary

La Mecha Contemporary is an artist-led contemporary art gallery in El Paso, Texas dedicated to the celebration of art and creativity that enriches artistic discussion and educates the public about the work of contemporary women and under-represented artists.  Starting August 31st, A Fine Line will be open for people to review and I am excited to announce I will have art on display for this special exhibition! A Fine Line was organized and curated by artist and arts educator Jean Wilkey.

About A Fine Line

From the call for art: Line contains, describes, and symbolizes. Line is a primary element in drawing but winds its way through all media. This exhibition invites artists to delve into how we conceive of "Line" culturally, symbolically, psychologically, and aesthetically. It explores the concept of a narrow distinction, a division, or difference whether conceptual or physical. Stay with traditional drawing approaches or expand our horizons. Enlarge our concept by taking a walk with Line as visual exploration, explode our ideas of drawing by examining Line as 3-dimensional, or enable us to experience Line over time.

Opening Reception

While I won't be able to make the opening reception, I def want to encourage all my El Paso family and friends to come out! If you haven't been to this super cute gallery, it's a great opportunity to check it out, and please please please send me some pics! LOL. The opening reception will be on August 31st from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm located at  3803 Frutas Ave, El Paso, TX 79905. The opening reception is kid-friendly and has surrounding art studios plus food trucks that will be open.

On Display For This Exhibit

One of the chaos creatives will be on display for this exhibition. For me, having my art back in El Paso is a huge milestone. It takes my art full circle, back to where my creativity first started, back to where I spent a lot of time growing up, and most importantly...back home.

The exhibition will be on display from August 31st to September 23rd.

I hope my El Paso fam will be able to come out and see some art.
