HOLIDAY GIFTING IDEAS 2024
What To Gift In 2024
The holidays are coming! I think I saw a post that said we are less than 100 days out from Christmas! Eeek. I always struggle with gifting. If I don't have a list and know exactly what you want, I'll mull over it for hours at any store, trying to decide what the recipient will like the most along with what color, size, style...and almost 95% of the time, the gift is returned. Insert a mini tear for me here.
For a while, gift cards were my go-to, but these days, so many of them deal with fraudulent issues! We had several last year that didn't work and calling to get that money back is a joke. I basically called to give up more of my personal information and never received a replacement. Whomp Whomp and a DUH.
What to do? What to do for 2024, especially for that one person that is almost
impossible to buy for?
Worry not. I have JUST the solution for ALMOST all of your holiday shopping needs:
Gift Original Artwork
Consider giving the gift of an investment with local art! Bias Answer...ha ha ha. I know! I know...BUT hear me out! Gifting art during the holiday season can be a thoughtful and rewarding investment for several reasons:
Long-Term Value Appreciation
Art has the potential to appreciate in value over time, making it a unique and thoughtful investment gift. Unlike many consumer goods that depreciate, well-chosen art from emerging or established artists can increase in value, turning your gift into a future financial asset for the recipient.
Personal and Emotional Significance
Art holds intrinsic emotional and personal value, which can make it a deeply meaningful gift. It is often more than just an object; it reflects the tastes, interests, and personality of the giver and the recipient. This makes it a lasting and memorable gift that can be cherished for years, contributing to the recipient's sense of identity and home.
Cultural and Aesthetic Investment
Art enhances the beauty and atmosphere of a space, adding a unique aesthetic and cultural touch to the recipient's environment. Unlike mass-produced items, original art can transform a room and create a sense of sophistication and individuality. As a cultural investment, it enriches the recipient's life by inspiring creativity, conversation, and emotional connection.
AND A BONUS
Gifting art offers a unique combination of emotional resonance, cultural significance, and potential financial benefits, making it a thoughtful and valuable holiday gift...ESPECIALLY for that one person who is ALWAYS really hard to buy for!
What NOT To Gift
Ok, so obviously...don't gift those kids, your niece/nephew, or anyone under the age of ____ (insert your own magic number here) because chances are they will toss that art piece right back at you and say out loud, "IS THAT IT?". LOL. Don't set yourself up for failure like I did. Or, if you are insistent on buying them some art as in investment, just buy it and tuck it away until they are on their first apartment/home when their walls are white AF and they might appreciate it more.
Art Gift Ideas $100 and Under
To help make gifting a little bit easier, I've bundled several of my creatives into a folder just for you that are all at the $100 mark or below on my ArtPal here. As with all local artists, the goal is to have our artistic contributions appreciate over time, so this really is an ideal opportunity to give the gift that keeps on giving and tells a story!
Done Holiday Shopping? You Lil Nerd You
If you're that one person who has finished ALL of their holiday shopping, I envy you...and also encourage you to consider sharing this post with a friend who is lost in a department store right now in search of that perfect gift. LOL. The anxiety is high for them. They need a reprieve! Send this post to them so they can end the agony, snatch up some art, and meet you for drinks instead! Ha ha ha.
Happy 'The Holidays Start Earlier Every Year' Season to you all and as always, thank you for being here!
