The Denied Artworks: Houston Figurative & Sensual Art Show

What happens to artwork when it’s considered too sexy for gallery walls? For a group of Houston artists, it becomes the starting point for an exhibition.

On November 14, 2026, starting at 7 PM, The Denied Artworks brings figurative, sensual, and sexy art to another Warehouse setting within Houston. Hosted by yours truly, the exhibition invites local art collectors, art lovers, and sensual art enthusiasts to discover works that have too often been turned away.

Giving Denied Artworks a Place to Be Seen!

During the season when I traditionally host my annual solo show and birthday, I wanted to open the exhibition to a group of Houston artists who share a familiar experience: having their artwork denied because it was considered too “sexy” for gallery walls.

The Denied Artworks creates space for those creative perspectives. Across different styles and interpretations of the human figure, the exhibition explores desire, intimacy, identity, vulnerability, and the freedom to express them.

For viewers, it’s an invitation to spend time with work that challenges personal comfort zones and sparks conversation. What does a body communicate? Who decides when sensuality becomes unacceptable? And what might we miss when an artwork is dismissed before its story is heard?

A Celebration of Sensual Expression

The human form can carry stories of strength, pleasure, autonomy, and lived experience. At The Denied Artworks, sensuality offers a way to explore those stories and the complexity of being seen.

Exhibiting alongside other Houston artists creates opportunities to consider how different materials and perspectives shape our understanding of the body.

For those drawn to figurative and sensual art, the evening offers a chance to explore the meaning behind the imagery through direct conversations with its creators.
