ARTIST STATEMENT
An Experimental Journey of Obstinance
My work is a deep exploration of the female form, female emotions, or the myriad of experiences that define womanhood. Through nontraditional mediums—whether it be caulk, textiles, found objects, or organic materials—I seek to transcend conventional representations of femininity and delve into the complexities of identity, resilience, vulnerability, and strength.
Women, in their many forms, become a canvas on which I reflect the layers of emotions and experiences that we carry—both visible and unseen.
I am drawn to the tension between softness and power, beauty and pain, creation and destruction, and how these dualities play out in everyday life. In my art, the body is not just an object, but a vessel of memory, emotion, and transformation.
By using unconventional materials, I aim to disrupt traditional narratives around gender and art. Materials are chosen for their tactile quality and the way it can evoke sensory and emotional responses, often drawing on materials that have historically not been associated with "feminine" labor. Nontraditional mediums, allow me to blend craft with fine art, elevating what has often been seen as domestic or marginalized work into the realm of powerful, personal expression.
My art is a conversation with the experiences of women across cultures, generations, and histories. It is a space where pain and joy coexist, where the silent becomes loud, and where the female experience is honored in all its raw, unfiltered truth.
Ultimately, my work strives to create an emotional resonance, inviting the viewer to not only witness the female experience but to feel it, question it, and connect with it on a deeply personal level.
