WE HAVE BIG PLANS FOR 2025

A 2024 Caulky Recap:  

I hope everyone has survived the holiday and is ready for the New Year. 

I wanted to do a super quick recap on a few of the art things I am most proud of this year, but if you’re over 2024 recaps, go ahead and skip the bullets and get to the juicy stuff. I won’t even be sad. LOL

In 2024, I’m most proud of these things:

• Started a new series, The Weights Of Women which incorporated a reach into a new medium with fabric art and the creation of two aprons

• Contributed to Behind The Blinds - reaching my 16th piece for this series

• Launched a co-hosted podcast: Canvass Confessions

• Participated in 14 group shows/exhibitions

• Displayed art at 7 physical Galleries across the United States

• I sold 23 pieces of art all over the United States

• Challenged myself to grow my art expertise by taking a few online art courses - this last one was my favorite.

2025 Houston Solo Art Show:

And we’re on to 2025. This year brings BIG things for me to include a monumental birthday where I’ll be turning the big FIVE-OH! As mentioned in the past, my birthdays have always been sandwiched between a busy time of year and I appreciate my girlfriends for always asking and putting a little pressure on me to “do something”. Well, this is it. This is the year. No, for real this time…

I am on a mission to host my first solo art exhibition, coupled with my 50th birthday with the intention of displaying 50 pieces of art! You officially have ALL the time to make sure you are present and with the exception of my good friend, Maggie… whose birthday is actually ON November 15th (but still mentioned she would be there for me, Love you Maggie) I expect all of you to be there! 

I have a date but I’m still working on details to include the venue. If you have suggestions, please send them my way! Soon. I’ll be locking things down very soon. Nothing says committed like a deposit. LOL. 

Subscribers Winning Again:

The best part: as a subscriber, you’re coming to my first solo show and celebration for free. Yes, people are now charging for things like birthdays and art shows and I really wanna do this right…classy, dress up a lil, high-end fancy with champagne and pinky fingers up art show and party, so the peasants will have to pay. LOL. ISWIS. 

Until then, distractions are going to have to be minimal. Fifty GOOD pieces will be a LOT of work and a lot of pressure, but I’m here for it. In the meantime, I’ll still need to get art outside because there is a constant need and urgency to remain relevant in this crazy art industry. It’ll be hard work, but…I need this. 

New Neoexpressionism Art Work:

I’m excited to share new work has emerged and a new feeling of freedom follows knowing I’m not limiting myself to gallery eyes and guidelines. (here was a link here for subscribers to see, go ahead and just subscribe). This solo show will be a lot about my observations, freedoms, and even some hardships or as my daughter calls it “angry art” but I’m ready for all of it: the questions, the confrontations, and some confusions. 

I'm nervous. I'm excited...I'm a little scared and anxious at times...but I feel so alive.
