Death Of My Career As A Mother explores death beyond physical mortality, examining the emotional and psychological death of identity, presence, and personal fulfillment through the sacrifices of corporate ambition.
This body of work confronts the invisible losses experienced while pursuing professional success as a woman and mother in a male-dominated industry. Through textured abstractions and representations of the female form, I examine the death of moments that cannot be reclaimed, the erosion of maternal presence, and the gradual disappearance of the woman I intended to be.
While fighting to break corporate glass ceilings, I began to recognize the personal cost of that ambition. The missed milestones, emotional exhaustion, and divided attention became casualties of a career I believed defined my success.
Death Of My Career As A Mother explores the moments and identities lost while questioning whether the death of one definition of success can become the beginning of another.
Not all deaths are physical. Some happen quietly while we are busy building a life.
