If you read that title in your Ludicras voice, then we are friends! LOL.
Once November hits, life moves kinda fast! For those who really know me, I’m a true Scorpio and every year I have intentions for my first solo show around this time. The intention remains. LOL. Between the start of the month, in which I mourn the loss of my dad, to my birthday, coat-tailed by the Thanksgiving holiday, it tends to be challenging to muster up the time and energy to actually organize an event. I give myself some grace, but one year, we’ll get her done. In the meantime, I love love love to piggyback on group shows and this November is no different!
I’m excited to announce on November 8th, Caulk Art will be at Open Space, a juried show at ICOSA Gallery in Austin, Texas. I’ll have one of my larger Chaos pieces on display! Caulk Art will remain on display at ICOSA through the 2024 East Austin Studio Tour Weeks, which is an Austin art-inclusive event providing accessible platforms for a diverse group of artists to create, exhibit, and discuss their work! While I won’t be able to physically make the opening on the 8th, due to some much-needed vaca, I hope to stop by before the closing or during East Austin Studio Tour week. This is an exciting opportunity to get art in front of new eyes, which has been my new motto. If you’re in Austin between November 8th and the 23rd, please be sure to stop by!
Next up, we’ll also have several of the Weights of Women headed to Knoxville, TN. Four creatives were accepted at The District Gallery’s 4th Annual Big Tiny Show Exhibition. This show is a national juried exhibition of small 2D works, opening Friday, November 22, 2024. The Big Tiny Show will include works from established and emerging artists, in a variety of subject matter, media, and expressions, all under 12”x12” in size. I won't make this showing either, but I am excited to have more art out of Texas.
The 6th Annual We Got The Power Exhibition opened on October 11th and featured 78 women artists in a Greek Frieze with focus on the Power of Women and their ability to unite and entice social change. The powerful exhibition is curated by gallery founder and director, Melanie Prapopoulos, and assistant director Maria Gabriela Di Giammarco, and will feature a miniature version of my Weights of Women Apron. The exhibition will remain on display until December 20th, making this my first creative to be in Miami during Art Basel! Eeek. The exhibition has been featured in multiple articles including 7 Must-See Shows At Art Basil!
Four Behind The Blinds creatives still remain at Vino & Vinyl in Sugar Land. It’s been a great run! Lots of art has sold and I’m forever grateful. I’m not sure how much longer we’ll have the last 5 up but, if you can…go see them before they are gone.
I also am super excited to announce that more art will also be on the North side of Houston, at Blue Prolific Studios, which is an artistic hub specializing in brand design and custom creativity. We'll have a few creatives on display and in December we'll transition to the Contrast exhibition, featuring all things black and white!
We have completed Nos 15 and 16! No. 11 has recently sold. The Marauders continue to evolved and I know they will forever be a part of my portfolio because of that. I genuinely love making them and working with the subject as we try to find ways to release those inhibitions. I’m always looking for new models/muses. If you’re interested, please reach out.
