Through the Glass Ceiling is a deeply personal and unapologetic series that explores the layered, often invisible barriers I encountered as a multi-racial woman navigating corporate America. Each piece in this collection holds a story, sometimes mine, sometimes shared, rooted in the quiet but heavy resistance I faced from those around me, and at times, from within.
This body of work does not exist to make viewers comfortable.
It exists to challenge perceptions of leadership, loyalty, and success through the lens of race, gender, and identity. It captures moments where support was expected but sabotage arrived instead. In some cases, from male colleagues, other Black leaders, or even women who had already clawed their way to power and pulled the ladder up behind them. It also acknowledges the internalized fears we carry. Passed down culturally or absorbed over years in environments not built for us.
In these works, I confront the myths of solidarity and the realities of silence. I honor the emotional weight of climbing while unseen, of contributing while uncredited, and of being "the only" in spaces not made to hold strong, determined women.
Through the Glass Ceiling is more than a collection...it is an act of release, reclamation, and resistance. I invite the viewer not only to witness but to feel and reflect on what it means to rise, to fall, and to push again. And... for those who have lived these experiences with me, it offers a mirror, a moment, and a reminder: we are not alone.
