My first solo art exhibition, Of Black & White, has officially come and gone... I’m still overwhelmed by the love, the energy, and the community that filled the room. What began as a vision rooted in contrast, identity, and the power of the female form transformed into a night I will never forget.
We (I say 'we' cause WE did that) had over 220 RSVPs, 123 guests in attendance, and 12 original artworks sold. This show was more than an exhibition — it was a celebration of womanhood, resilience, and creative expression.
This show was a HUGE body of work...we finalized at 46 pieces... just a little shy of my 50 goal, but I was ok with it. This show allowed me to continue to explore the intersections of strength and softness, internal unraveling, and the lived experience of being a woman in spaces that don’t always see us clearly. Of Black & White brought these themes to life through sculptural texture, monochromatic storytelling, and a focus on the delicate balance between purity, complexity, visibility, and voice.Â
Whether you came dressed in all black, brought a friend, purchased a creative, or simply offered a kind word...thank you. Your presence supported not only me as an emerging artist but also the visibility of women-centered art that challenges, questions, and reframes the narratives around us.
The best part? All the love was felt. Truly.
This exhibition continued my mission to create:
contemporary textured creatives centered on women’s experiences
figurative artwork with emotional depth
art that highlights identity, empowerment, and resilience
modern creatives for collectors who appreciate the female form
bold, minimalist pieces that elevate any fine art collection
Of Black & White represents the ongoing conversation between visibility and vulnerability... a dialogue that so many women live every day.
If the show moved you, inspired you, or sparked something within you, I invite you to revisit the work online. Your support helps amplify the stories of women, the complexity of our identities, and the beauty of our strength.
Thank you again to everyone who made this moment possible.
This is just another beginning...and I’m grateful to be creating art with you, for you, and because of you.
Nicole
